Amazon S3 - Requester Pays

Normally, the bucket owner pays for storage, requests, and data transfer. With Requester Pays, the requester is billed for request and data download costs, while the bucket owner still pays for storage.
Key points:
  • Requester must be authenticated; anonymous access is not allowed.
  • Useful for sharing large datasets without absorbing retrieval costs.
  • Common in research, public data sharing, or cross-account scenarios.
